You must qualify for Medicaid in order to receive any waiver services. More information can be found on the Department of Health Care, Policy and Financing under Home and Community Based Services (HCBS):

HCBS Medicaid waiver definitions

The two main waiver services for people with developmental disabilities are the Supported Living Services waiver and the Waiver for Persons (with) Developmentally Disabled (comprehensive waiver). Please keep in mind the wait for these services is several years. In Adams County, the single entry point for eligibility and waitlist for these services is through North Metro Community Services. Whether you are interested in these services now or in the future, it is best to apply for services for the developmentally disabled as soon as possible.

You or someone you know may qualify for other waiver services, such as the

Elderly, Blind, and Disabled waiver, depending on your needs and other disabilities. These waiver services typically have a much shorter waitlist, if at all. Please review all waiver services to see if you qualify for other waiver services.

If you are not on a Medicaid waiver or on the waitlist for these services, the State Medicaid plan may have services that can help you. For a complete list of available benefits please see:
